Mondays at Cloudberry: Yin and Yoga Nidra

Join local yoga teacher Julia Cairns for a deeply rejuvenating 75 minutes of Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra on Mondays in The Exercise Lab at Cloudberry Health.


Yin Yoga focuses on deep tissue release, stretching our joints, ligaments and fascia through gentle poses held for up to three minutes. As opposed to the “warming” practice of Yang, or regular yoga, where we create heat by strengthening muscles and “warming” the body, Yin is a “cooling” practice that stills the mind, body and breath. Julia will guide you through each pose and offer alternates as necessary. For those who exercise regularly, Yin yoga is a wonderful complementary practice, and perfect for all levels, from seasoned yogis to complete beginners.


The session concludes with 15 minutes of Yoga Nidra, a deeply relaxing practice of “radiant rest” that takes you into a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping as Julia guides your focus throughout the body. Yoga Nidra improves concentration, elevates creativity, helps with anxiety and depression, and creates a general sense of wellbeing.


Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Please arrive a few minutes early and bring a mat, two yoga blocks, a blanket and a strap; if you only have a mat, we have limited blocks and blankets available for your use.
